WHAT'S UP!! ... in and around Cebu

• More dust, more traffic and more obstacles. But apparently the Talamban-Banilad Fly-Over is progressing. Word has it that it could be completed in October 2008 (That's right...this year!). But there is the rumor that we could be looking into November. We shall see. Meanwhile, from our vantage point we can still watch the traffic gang up in the comfort of our own home while watching our favorite event LIVE, or sitting back with a "coolie" and glad we're not out there!!

• We're still into the Premiere League English football. Always a good support group for Liverpool and Manchester United, but we also have the odd supporter coming in for one of those "other guys". Nevertheless, its been a good season so far and the finals promise to be entertaining as usual. Be sure to get in on the action here in BADGERS.

• PACMAN fans have another fight to look forward to. Coming this December 6th, Manny takes on De la Hoya in a very anticipated bout. This is one fight that many Pacquio fans have seen coming for some time. Manny will be taking a jump to meet the weight requirements. We're looking forward to see what transpires. Will Pacquio finally meet his match?? The "Pac-Man" seems to think not!

• The 2008 Olympics proved to be quite the show. China did such an excellent job on the opening and closing ceremonies. London will have to really stretch itself if they intend to match these past games, although it seems unlikely that would happen. 2012 is a long way off, but the UK will need the time to dust off the red carpets and prepare themselves. China also has a very nice medal collection from their hosting efforts. Our congratulations to all the participating athletes for proving us with so many great sporting events.

• Business as usual here in BADGERS. OPEN Monday - Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 02:00 a.m., and Friday - Sunday OPEN 11:00 a.m. until 02:00 a.m.

• "WE'RE JAMMIN'" - Starting October 2008 BADGERS is inviting those who are musically inclined (but not necessarily anywhere near professional) to join in some weekend jam sessions here in BADGERS. This will not be a Karaoke event, but rather a time where people can gather for a little "Pickin' & Grinnin" just for the fun of it. Come in and check it out on Saturday and Sunday afternoons from 02:00 p.m. until 06:00 p.m. (Sports schedules permitting. LIVE sports telecasts will take priority)

NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC:

    Effective June 01, 2008 our mezzanine section has been removed from service due to infrequent use. This area of BADGERS has been converted into office space, and the internal stair access has been removed. In doing so, we have also increased our serviceable area on the ground floor and made room for a few more tables.

    It will also afford us the space to have LIVE MUSIC from time to time. We've never really had the floor space on the ground floor to entertain having a band play. However, with the removal of the two staircases and railings, we can now afford the space for bands to play. So keep checking with us from time to time and you will soon see some LIVE MUSIC happening. Hopefully, when we're not tied up with the major sporting events, LIVE BANDS will become a regular happening here in BADGERS. Another great reason to come in and mingle with the BADGERS crowd.
